What SEO costs in Cork, and how many hours your money actually buys
We gathered the published SEO prices that apply to Cork businesses and put them side by side in euro. Then we do something most price guides cannot: convert a package into the hours of work behind it, using one Irish provider that publishes its prices by the hour.
Published October 2026 · Based on publicly listed Irish SEO pricing and Cork City Council and CSO data
The short answer
Published Irish SEO prices run from about €280 a month for basic packages to €1,500 or more for a full programme, and higher for competitive or national campaigns.
Two things change the real number. Hours: at the published Irish rate of roughly €73 to €93 an hour, the cheapest €280 option buys three hours of work a month. Commitment: some packages carry a six-month minimum, which turns a €350 package into a €2,100 commitment. And ask about VAT, which is 23 percent in Ireland.

Published Irish SEO prices, side by side
All figures in euro, as each provider publishes them.
| Provider | Published price | What that covers |
|---|---|---|
| Volt Audit | ~€255 to €740 audit ~€785 to €2,175/mo | US$295 to $850 and US$900 to $2,500. Invoiced in US dollars. No contract, and you can start with the audit alone |
| Nua Digital packages | €350 to €750/mo | Silver, Gold and Platinum packages, with a six-month minimum contract. Dublin based, works with Cork clients |
| Nua Digital hourly | €280 to €1,500/mo | 3 hours a month for €280 up to 20 hours for €1,500, roughly €73 to €93 an hour |
| Khalid Farhan, Cork | From €1,500/mo | Cork SEO programmes, with a free audit before quoting |
Rates as published by each provider and current at the time of writing. Always confirm directly, and ask whether VAT is included. Our prices are converted at roughly €0.87 to the US dollar; we invoice in US dollars, so the euro figure moves with the exchange rate.

A price only means something once you know the hours behind it
Most SEO prices hide the one number that matters: how much actual work you get each month. One Irish provider, Nua Digital, publishes its custom SEO pricing by the hour, which gives every Cork business a rare benchmark.
| Hours of SEO a month | Published price | Per hour |
|---|---|---|
| 3 hours | €280 | ~€93 |
| 5 hours | €455 | ~€91 |
| 8 hours | €700 | ~€88 |
| 10 hours | €800 | €80 |
| 20 hours | €1,500 | €75 |
Hourly figures calculated from Nua Digital’s published price list.
Use those rates as a ruler for any quote. At roughly €73 to €93 an hour, a €350 a month package buys roughly four to five hours of work, and €500 around five to seven. That is enough to keep a Google Business Profile tidy and fix a handful of on-page issues. It is not enough to write new service pages, build links and fix technical problems at the same time.
So when you get a quote, ask one simple question: how many hours a month is this, and what will you do with them? A provider who cannot answer clearly is telling you something.
€350 a month can be a €2,100 decision
Some Irish SEO packages come with a six-month minimum contract, and a Cork consultant notes that twelve-month lock-ins are common in the industry, because results take time. That is a fair argument, but it changes what you are actually agreeing to.
| Monthly price | With a 6-month minimum | With a 12-month term |
|---|---|---|
| €350 | €2,100 | €4,200 |
| €500 | €3,000 | €6,000 |
| €750 | €4,500 | €9,000 |
Compare quotes on the full commitment, not the monthly figure, and ask what happens if it is not working by month three. We work month to month with no minimum, which means the commitment is always just the next month.
Irish VAT is 23 percent, so ask before you compare
Ireland’s standard VAT rate is 23 percent, higher than in most countries we cover. Some Irish providers quote their work plus VAT, others do not say. A €1,500 + VAT retainer is €1,845 on the invoice, and a €500 + VAT package is €615.
If your business is VAT-registered you can usually reclaim it, which changes the effective cost again. The simple rule: ask every provider, including us, whether the price includes VAT, then compare like with like.
The Cork market in numbers
Cork is Ireland’s second city. Census 2022 counted 224,004 people in the city and 584,156 in the county, up 8 percent in six years. More than 264,000 people were at work across the county, up 15 percent since 2016, and the median income across city and county was €42,764 in 2022, slightly above the national average.
For local SEO, the county matters as much as the city. Carrigaline is the largest town in the county, and places like Ballincollig, Douglas, Midleton and Cobh are separate local searches. A Cork business that serves the wider county usually needs pages for the towns it actually works in, not one page that just says “Cork”.
What each price tier actually buys
Use the hourly ruler above: divide any monthly price by €75 to €90 to estimate the hours behind it.
Basic packages
€280 to €500 a monthRoughly three to seven hours of work. Google Business Profile upkeep, a few on-page fixes and a report. Reasonable for a sole trader in one town, often with a minimum term.
Fits: small local businesses in quiet categories.
Real local SEO
€500 to €1,500 a monthRoughly six to twenty hours. Technical fixes, profile management, review strategy, service pages and pages for the Cork towns you serve.
Fits: established businesses competing across the city and county.
Competitive categories
€1,500 to €3,500 a monthOngoing content, link building, conversion work and AI answer optimisation. Legal, health, property and hospitality in Cork often land here.
Fits: businesses in crowded, high-value searches.
National and multi-site
€3,500+ a monthNational reach, several locations, or ecommerce at scale. At this level you are buying a team.
Fits: brands based in Cork selling across Ireland.
Buy the diagnosis before you sign a minimum term
Every tier above asks you to commit before anyone has told you what is actually wrong, and some ask you to commit for six or twelve months.
So start at the other end. A flat-fee diagnosis from about €255 (US$295) tells you what is broken, what it is worth fixing, and roughly how many hours a month it really needs. The report is yours to keep. Then choose: do it yourself, hand it to your developer, hire a local provider, or put us on a retainer with no minimum term.

Four red rows, and they matter. What we offer is no minimum term, the hours agreed up front, a diagnosis you can buy on its own, and SEO and the WordPress build from one person.

Where the money leaks
When you should not hire anyone yet
- Your site cannot convert. More visitors multiply a leak. Fix the site first.
- You have not claimed your Google Business Profile. For a local Cork business that free asset often beats the first months of any package.
- You need enquiries within a month. SEO compounds over months. Paid search buys visibility immediately.
Does your SEO provider need to be in Cork?
For the actual work, no. Technical SEO, content and site architecture do not depend on where the person doing them sits. Proximity is worth something if you want to meet in person, and Cork has capable local providers for exactly that.
Outside that, our prices are the same in every city, from Dublin, Reading and Cheltenham across the Irish Sea to Christchurch. So apply the same test to everyone, us included: ask how many hours, how long the commitment is, and whether VAT is included.
