What SEO costs in Dublin, and why you should win your district before the city
We gathered the published prices of SEO providers in Dublin and put them side by side in euro. Then we look at the thing that changes the maths most in this city: Dublin is not one search market but twenty-two postal districts, and the cheapest page-one ranking is usually the one closest to home.
Published October 2026 · Based on publicly listed Dublin SEO pricing and CSO Census 2022 data
The short answer
Published prices from Dublin providers run from about €199 a month for content-led packages and €350 for basic SEO packages, to €1,500 or more for a full programme.
But in Dublin the bigger question is what you are trying to rank for. Competing for “plumber Dublin” puts you up against national brands and directories. Competing for “plumber Dublin 15” is a much smaller, more winnable fight, and it is how many Dubliners actually search.

Dublin is 22 postal districts, and that changes what SEO costs
Dublin is divided into 22 postal districts, from Dublin 1 to Dublin 24, including Dublin 6W. They date back over a century, and even under the Eircode system the district number is still part of every Dublin address.
Dubliners identify with them strongly. When a new district was due to become “Dublin 26”, residents objected that a higher number would lower property values, and it was named Dublin 6W instead. People who think of themselves as “Dublin 4” or “D15” also search that way.
That is good news for your budget. Ranking for “dentist Dublin” means competing with every chain, directory and national brand in the country. Ranking for “dentist Dublin 6” means competing with the handful of practices near you. The second fight costs far less to win, and the customers it brings are the ones who can actually reach you.
What that means in practice
- Start with your own district and the ones next to it. Get those ranking before you chase “Dublin”.
- Build a real page for each district you serve, with something specific to say about it, not one template with the number swapped.
- Remember County Dublin. Swords, the largest town in the county with over 40,000 people, and much of Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown sit outside the numbered districts and need their own pages.
- Make your Google Business Profile match. The address, service area and categories should reflect exactly where you work.
Articles, hours or outcomes: know what you are buying
Dublin providers measure their packages in different units. Clickworks sells by content: one, two or four blog articles a week. Nua Digital sells by package or by the hour, at roughly €73 to €93 an hour. Neither is wrong, but they are not comparable until you ask the same questions of both.
For a local Dublin business, more blog articles is not automatically more rankings. What usually moves local results is a strong Google Business Profile, reviews, and service and district pages. So ask: how many hours is this, what will the articles target, and will any of it build the pages my customers actually search for? Our Cork guide shows how to turn any monthly price into the hours behind it.
Two more things to check
- The minimum term. Nua Digital’s packages carry a six-month minimum, which turns €350 a month into a €2,100 commitment. Compare totals, not monthly prices.
- VAT at 23 percent. A €1,500 + VAT retainer is €1,845 on the invoice. Ask every provider, us included, whether VAT is included.
Many Dublin price guides look alike
Search for Dublin SEO prices and you will find dozens of near-identical guides, often from the same publisher, each with slightly different ranges and illustrated with example clients. They can be a rough starting point. But the most reliable numbers are price lists a provider publishes for its own services, which you can check and hold them to. That is why every price in our table links to the provider’s own page.
The Dublin market in numbers
County Dublin had 1,458,154 people at the 2022 Census, up 8 percent in six years, with almost 700,000 people at work. It is by far the largest market in Ireland, which is exactly why the city-wide searches are so crowded and the district-level ones are where most local businesses should start.
What each price tier actually buys
Whatever the unit, convert it into hours and into the pages it will build. At roughly €75 to €90 an hour, divide any monthly price to estimate the work behind it.
Entry packages
€199 to €500 a monthA few hours of work or a steady flow of blog posts. Useful for keeping a Google Business Profile tidy and a site active. Rarely enough to build district pages or win competitive searches.
Fits: sole traders in one district.
Real local SEO
€500 to €1,500 a monthTechnical fixes, profile management, review strategy, service pages and pages for the districts you actually serve.
Fits: established businesses serving several districts.
City-wide and competitive
€1,500 to €3,500 a monthContent, link building and digital PR to compete for “Dublin” terms against national brands. Legal, property, health and hospitality often land here.
Fits: businesses that genuinely need the whole city.
National
€3,500+ a monthIreland-wide reach, multiple locations or ecommerce at scale. At this level you are buying a team.
Fits: Dublin-based brands selling across the country.
Find out which fight you can win before you pay to fight it
Every tier above asks you to commit before anyone has told you whether you should be chasing “Dublin” or your own district, or what is stopping your site ranking for either.
So start at the other end. A flat-fee diagnosis from about €255 (US$295) tells you what is broken, which searches you can realistically win, and what that should cost with anyone. The report is yours to keep. Then choose: do it yourself, hand it to your developer, hire a Dublin provider, or put us on a retainer with no minimum term.

Where the money leaks
When you should not hire anyone yet
- Your site cannot convert. More visitors multiply a leak. Fix the site first.
- You have not claimed your Google Business Profile. For a local Dublin business that free asset often beats the first months of any package.
- You need enquiries within a month. SEO compounds over months. Paid search buys visibility immediately.
Does your SEO provider need to be in Dublin?
For the actual work, no. Technical SEO, content and site architecture do not depend on where the person doing them sits. Proximity is worth something if you want to meet in person, and Dublin has plenty of capable local providers for exactly that.
Outside that, our prices are the same in every city, from Cork to Reading across the Irish Sea, and on to The Hague and Eindhoven. So apply the same test to everyone, us included: ask what the month contains, how long the commitment is, and whether VAT is included.
