Why pixels matter more than characters

Google truncates titles at roughly 580 pixels and descriptions around 990 pixels on desktop, not at a fixed character count. “WWW” is three characters wide as a house; “iii” is three characters wide as a needle. This tool measures the real rendered width the way Google does, so your message never gets cut mid-promise. Writing titles that earn the click is covered in the SEO audit checklist, and if your snippets are fine but rankings still lag, the problem lives deeper: start with technical SEO.

Common questions

How long should a title tag be?

And once your snippet is right, find out what the click is worth with the free SEO ROI calculator.

Under 580 pixels, roughly 55-60 characters. Front-load the keyword, end with the benefit.

Does Google always use my meta description?

No, Google rewrites descriptions for a majority of queries. A well-written one within limits still gets used far more often, and it is your ad copy when it does.

Is this really free?

Completely. No signup, no email, no trial. It exists because useful things earn trust, and trust is how I earn clients like the ones on the results page.

Titles fixed, rankings still stuck? That is diagnosable.

The $295 audit finds what is actually capping your site, snippet to server.
